CAMSAHT releases petition to mandate human trafficking education in medical schools across Canada!
CAMSAHT has released a new petition that aims to have all medical schools across Canada include human trafficking education in their curriculum.
80% of people who are trafficked access healthcare while being trafficked. Although our hard-working CAMSAHT members have succeeded in implementing trafficking training and education in eight out of seventeen Canadian medical schools, we will not rest until all future physicians in this country are provided with training in this area.
We will be approaching the Medical Council of Canada with a proposal to include questions about trafficking on the medical licensing exams. We have until the summer of 2022 to build a campaign with enough signatures that we can show the MCC how much this issue matters to Canadians!
