Our Story
It all started in 2015…
Two medical students, Guido Guberman (McGill University) and Emma Herrington (McMaster University, now a Family Medicine resident at uOttawa), identified a gap in their training regarding human trafficking and began advocating for appropriate medical education.
Seeking to enlist the talents of students across Canada, Guido and Emma decided to start the Canadian Alliance of Medical Students Against Human Trafficking (CAMSAHT), a national organization focused on medical student education, advocacy, and research surrounding human trafficking. Seven years later, CAMSAHT has grown to include 12 chapters at medical schools spanning from British Columbia to Nova Scotia!
