Public Safety Canada Invites CAMSAHT To Present

On December 8th, 2020, CAMSAHT co-founder, Dr. Emma Herrington, had the opportunity to present within the Public Safety Canada human trafficking engagement seminars.

Dr. Herrington was invited by the federal government to participate in the academic sector portion of the webinars, which ran over several days at the beginning of the month. The presentation focused on educating participants on how human trafficking and healthcare intersect and on the work of CAMSAHT. About the event, Dr. Herrington shares “It was an amazing experience to be invited by the federal government to share CAMSAHT initiatives and our research results.”

Her online presentation was attended by individuals from academia, the federal and provincial governments, police services, and the public sector.  To have the work of our dedicated medical students and residents acknowledged by the federal government is a sign that we are growing as an organization, enacting meaningful change.
